1. HTTP Module Basics

The HTTP module lets you make GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE requests. You'll configure the URL, headers (including authentication), query parameters, and request body.

2. Authentication Methods

Most APIs require authentication. Common methods include API keys (in headers or URL), Bearer tokens, Basic auth, and OAuth 2.0. Make supports all of these in the HTTP module.

json
{
  "headers": {
    "Authorization": "Bearer your-api-token",
    "Content-Type": "application/json"
  }
}

3. Parsing API Responses

APIs return data in JSON or XML. Make automatically parses JSON responses, letting you map specific fields to subsequent modules. Use the JSON parse module for nested data structures.

Wrap-up

With the HTTP module, there's virtually no API you can't connect to Make. Start with well-documented APIs, test in tools like Postman first, then replicate in Make.
